How to Use LM Live: Prepare, Preview, and Run a Live Broadcast
Set the broadcast source, schedule, public destinations, rights readiness, operator notes, and truthful live status while keeping provider credentials and stream keys out of LMOS.
Built for Creators, churches, event teams, educators, podcasters, and organizations coordinating a live broadcast.
You will have a saved LM Live control-room project that clearly shows whether the broadcast is ready, where viewers will watch, and what the operator still needs to verify.
Before you start
LM Live is a control-room and coordination layer. Your streaming provider or encoder remains responsible for the actual transport. LMOS does not ask you to store stream keys or provider passwords in the project.
Step 1: Create the broadcast project
Name the LM Live project for the program or event so the control-room window, project history, tasks, and feedback stay attached to the right broadcast.
Step 2: Add the viewing source
Paste a supported YouTube watch, live, channel, or embed link. LM Live normalizes the link and keeps the external preview unloaded until you explicitly ask to view it.
Step 3: Set the title and schedule
Add the public-facing broadcast title and scheduled start time. These are operator facts; they do not claim the provider has begun transmitting.
Step 4: Confirm rights and destinations
Confirm that you have permission to stream the content and add at least one public watch destination. Keep stream keys, passwords, and encoder credentials in the provider or encoder rather than the LM project.
Step 5: Run the readiness check
Clear the source, title, rights, and destination checks before treating the session as ready. Use operator notes for run-of-show, moderation, backup, and handoff information.
Step 6: Mark the operating state truthfully
Use Live only when the provider or encoder is actually transmitting, and End when the broadcast is complete. LM Live records the operator state; it does not pretend that changing a label starts or stops the external provider.
Make the workflow better
Load external preview video only when you need it.
Keep provider credentials out of LMOS projects.
Use a backup destination and operator note when the event is mission-critical.
Treat rights readiness as a real gate, not a checkbox to bypass.
Questions people ask
Does LM Live directly send an RTMP or WHIP stream today?
Not in the current beta. LM Live coordinates source preview, schedule, destinations, rights, notes, and truthful operator state while the provider or encoder owns transport.
Does LM Live share First Assembly or FAOS stream settings?
No. LM Live is an independent LMOS app with its own projects and configuration. FAOS patterns informed the workflow, but church data and stream configuration are not shared.
