LMOS Beta Update: Genesis Has a Release Roadmap, Core Utilities, and Three OS Levels
LMOS now identifies the first full generation as Genesis and the current cycle as VOID Beta, tracks operating-system and app versions separately, adds included system utilities and searchable help, maps the release gates to Genesis 1.0, and separates Essential, Team and Pro operating-system capabilities.
What changed
Added one LMOS release identity: Genesis generation, VOID Beta cycle, current system version 0.34.0 and Genesis 1.0 as the first full non-beta target.
Added a shared app-version helper that reads the existing LM app catalog instead of creating duplicate version records.
The LMOS App Store now shows the OS release identity, each app beta version and a Version notes path.
System apps and utilities are listed separately as Included with LMOS instead of being sold like specialist creator software.
Added functional Calendar, Calculator, Timer and System Monitor utilities. System Monitor only reports browser-visible processors, memory hints, storage estimates and runtime capabilities; it does not fake native Task Manager telemetry.
Expanded LMOS Help with searchable built-in answers covering versions, install/open behavior, files, reconnect, collaboration, AI, privacy, pricing and the seven-day trial.
Added a living Genesis Release Roadmap from Updates 34–56 through Genesis 1.0, including storage providers, local handles, smart relink, OPFS, compute routing, LM Files, collaboration, commerce, developer mode, security/recovery and release-candidate gates.
Added a software opportunity map that uses major products as workflow/category benchmarks while explicitly prohibiting proprietary UI/design copying.
Confirmed live project presence and cursor infrastructure already runs through the shared studio project route, so apps can reuse one collaboration engine.
LMOS bundle display tiers are now Essential, Team and Pro while the technical creator plan key remains intact for Stripe/backward compatibility.
LMOS Pro includes a metered 1,000-credit LM Intelligence allowance; larger AI usage remains available through separate LM Assistant tiers.
Lifetime and VOID Beta grants now have no ongoing AI allowance. The seven-day trial retains a small AI preview.
Strengthened internal sustainability safeguards for metered infrastructure so AI, storage, delivery and other variable-cost services remain customer-funded without exposing customers to surprise overages.
VOID Beta remains $0 but now uses the same limited project/file philosophy as lifetime/trial access rather than promising unlimited creation.
Added standalone LMOS manifest metadata and a /lmos entry route without creating or registering another service worker.
The tier rule
Essential is the individual operating system. Team adds shared projects, presence, live cursors, comments and team work. Pro adds the advanced administration, executive and future developer/app-builder foundation plus a metered LM Intelligence allowance. Specialist apps can still be bought separately when a customer only needs one tool.
The version rule
LMOS and its apps do not share one fake version number. Genesis/VOID describes the operating-system release program. Each app keeps its own beta/semantic version and release notes. Genesis 1.0 happens only after the system-level release gates pass.
What testers should try
Open App Store and confirm Genesis / VOID Beta plus each app version is visible.
Open System Utilities and test Calendar, Calculator, Timer and System Monitor.
Open Help and search for reconnect, AI, trial, versions and collaboration.
Open the Genesis Release Roadmap and review the major update sequence and software opportunity map.
Open a shared project with another member and verify presence/live cursor behavior uses the common project system.
Open Pricing and verify the OS-level Essential, Team and Pro story is distinct from optional metered LM Assistant plans.
Use the beta on real work.
